What a year!

Last year at this time, the future vision of SBE was just taking shape. As an organisation we reflected on our achievements over the past 10 years, the Australian entrepreneurial ecosystem and what we and that ecosystem had collectively achieved for women entrepreneurs, their companies and our economies over the last decade.

Fast forward to December 2022, we measured that impact through the launch of the Deloitte and Techboard reports at our 10 year anniversary celebration at the Sydney Town Hall on 1st September.  It was a fabulous event where we also celebrated the extraordinary women who have chosen SBE as their support crew along the way. We recognised that we had BUILT a foundation of support for women-led businesses and then MEASURED the impact of that foundation.

What we LEARNED is that our work is not done. there are still enormous barriers for women entrepreneurs that are social, financial and cultural. We will continue to work towards removing these barriers in 2023, setting ambitious goals for the ecosystem to reach this by 2030.

We are just as reflective as we were a year ago about how we plan to deliver better and bigger in 2023 to amplify growth in women-led businesses from Idea to Exit.  As we transition from an education provider to a full-blown advisory, 2023 will be a pivotal year for us.  We strive to reach December 2023 as a reinvigorated organisation that continues to deliver on our mission and through our core values.

We Value the Human Connection and will have more in-person events and opportunities to connect.

We believe in the Extraordinary over the Ordinary and will continue to invest in the entrepreneurs who choose to be extraordinary.

We encourage women to Build the Big and Bold and will add more services to support those who take on this challenge.

And finally,

We need to reach gender parity in entrepreneurship in Australia and can't do it on our own. We will collaborate with others who share our mission and purpose believing that "Collaboration over Competition" is the only option -- we are doers, not talkers.

We hope you will join us on the 2023 journey by supporting us as community members (you can join here) to help fund the next phase of growth.  Every member will benefit!

This reflective video from our 10 Year Celebration of Impact event at the Sydney Town Hall in September shows it's been a fabulous 2022! Thank you to all our entrepreneurs, our partners, community members, advisors, facilitators, guest experts and the extensive village who support what we do.

We couldn't do any of this without the very special partners who have supported us in 2022. The list is bigger than it has ever been!

Sincere thanks to Corrs Chambers Westgarth, City of Sydney, LaunchVic, Deloitte Access Economics, EY, Tattarang, Giant Leap Fund, IR Department. NSW Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade, NSW Minister for Women Bronnie Taylor, The Office of the QLD Chief Entrepreneur, Significant VC, Australian Centre for Business Growth, Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick, AWS, Hamilton Locke, and MiCrowd.

Here's to 2023!

Many thanks,

Nicole, Sarah, Carmen & Kim
